Abstract This study highlighted how particular intersections of personal characteristics were related to Motivation Learn (MtL) among adults. MtL is a prerequisite for adult education and training participation. However, little known about across subpopulations due several methodological limitations. developed national profile by key that are defined combinations age, gender, level, literacy proficiency in the United States. Data obtained from 2012/2014/2017 Program International Assessment Adult Competencies (PIAAC) restricted use file ( N = 8400). The alignment optimization (AO) method was employed estimate subpopulation means PIAAC-based latent construct. Subpopulations with younger greater educational attainment, higher showed significantly MtL.
